Austraila, 1938. Women's wear and golf clubs have come a long way. The fact that each bag has about 5 clubs makes me think that maybe these women have got it right. Why do we tote along 12 clubs? Have you seen the new TaylorMade driver heads? They're the size of a small child. Has this new technology really revolutionized the game or made it more fun? I often think back to when I was young, borrowing clubs out of my grandfather's bag and being elated at the sight of not the ball disappearing into the hole, but the smile on his face.  I think one of my resolutions for next season will be to get back to the butter knives-the basics-and enjoy life.. I mean, golf, the way it was meant to be played.

Perfect crisp day for golf. Looming oak trees with leaves tinged with gold and the familiar warmth of the sun. I love this game.

Ryder Cup Captian Challenge - A Unique Show of Skill

Today the captains of the UK and USA Ryder Cup teams tackled a unique hole in the middle of downtown Chicago. With the improvised tee box off the 16th floor of the Trump Tower, Davis Love III hits his best shot to the green floating atop a barge 220 yards away in the Chicago River.

2012 Ryder Cup: Sad Sod?

Cog Hill was dragged through the mud a couple weeks back when golfers and spectators alike took to some mud slinging at the course's condition and recent improvements. Now questions are arising about Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, just a chip and a putt north of Cog, and home to the 2012 Ryder Cup.

Media Day is scheduled for Monday, but only time will tell. The Ryder Cup is set to tee off just about a year from now on September 25 - 30, 2012.

More From Reef

I've seen these Reef sandals before, but they are still worth mentioning, especially because I can wear size 5 in mens! (Yes, I tirelessly converted my size). I love how creative the Reef sandal company has proven to be with these ventures outside of the realm of typical sandal maker.

Yes, that is astroturf footbed with a golfball textured thong - complete with two tee holders and ball marker. This is one of the most creative pairs of shoes I will ever own (and I own a lot!)

Sandals

I love strolling up to the tee box in my Reef sandals (definitely just the plain old sandals). You can bet that I get some pretty funny looks from the starters, marshalls and other golfers. I can almost read their minds: "What's that crazy girl doing?" "Amateur..." There is no sweeter feeling then to stop at the white tees and crank one right down the middle of the fairway. "Stupid Sandals" my foot!

Aren't they great?! Why are all the fun golf things just for men? If you need me, I will be looking up what my size is in men's shoes.

SeeMore One Putts

I was given a SeeMore putter when I was captain of my high school golf team. I will have to say that it was one of the best gifts I've ever been given. It saved my short game. Thanks Q for the gift - it's come in handy when I talk more game than I have in me.
